Round 6 of the Moto GP was held at the Le Mans circuit in France. Colin Edwards on the Tech3 Yamaha gained a deserved 2nd place on the grid, after the ever-cheerful Dani Pedrosa snatched pole position from the American no. 5. To conclude the first row was 2007 Moto GP Champion Casey Stoner, whose form so far this season has not been excellent.

Valentino Rossi hoping for his 90th win began on the second row in 4th. Jorge Lorenzo, whilst suffering from an injured ankle from China, grabbed a spot right behind his team mate. New up and coming British star James Toseland, still learning the tracks, and getting to grips with the Tech3 Yamaha managed to sneak to the head of row 3 just above Chris Vermeulen who was standing in 8th.

As the race had began, Casey Stoner from third position was able to sneak in past both Pedrosa and Edwards before they reached the first corner. Rossi not having a good start off the line went from 4th to 6th place, and had sights on James Toseland. As the race continued Toseland fell off and wasn't able to finish. Along with John Hopkins who had fallen later on after him.

Dani Pedrosa was tailing the Australian no.1 very closely and wasn't able to pass him. Pedrosa, still tailing Stoner, had Valentino fighting for the 2nd position, with Edwards only 1 place behind. As the race went on the Doctor passed Pedrosa, and had his sights on Casey Stoner with over 20 laps left to go.

Jorge Lorenzo, despite his injury moved up the track as every lap went by. Casey Stoner, regardless of his best efforts, just wasn't able to stay with the top 3 and ended the race in 17th.
